More than 150,000 residents have been forced to be evacuated from their homes, and thousands of homes have been destroyed. The still-growing flames endanger more towns in the next few days. California absolutely needs urgent help.
Thousands have been left without cover since the fires started, and many more remain vulnerable. Homes, companies, and basic infrastructure in certain areas have disappeared. Though the extent of the damage has overwhelmed resources, emergency services are working hard to offer quick relief. Officials have reported 24 known fatalities from the wildfires that erupted in the Los Angeles area on Jan. 7 as winds of 80 mph or more transformed flames into firestorms.
